WOKINGHAM Youth Theatre is deeply saddened following the passing of adult team member Heidi Wilson, who died on Tuesday, July 21.
“We have lost a very dear member of our team,” said Diane Hogg, who heads up the youth theatre.
“Dedicated people are often rare — and we were lucky enough to have one hugely dedicated person in Heidi.”
Diane first met Heidi as the parent of a youth theatre student.
“We got on right away, and her positive, straightforward manner stayed with me,” said Diane.
“So, when we needed a new member of the youth theatre team, I remembered those qualities and invited Heidi to join us.
“It was one of the best decisions we ever made.”
Heidi dedicated countless hours to Wokingham Youth Theatre: perfecting forms, upgrading the group’s database, updating registers, creating newsletters, and helping to costume students when they performed in shows.
“She was the sort of person who would respond to messages at 7am before work; always there, always supportive, and always capable,” said Diane.
It was Heidi who stage managed A Tale of Two Cities with calm professionalism, as though she had been doing it all her life.
“She had a hugely positive influence on our team, with her brilliant dry sense of humour, and nothing was ever too much trouble,” added Diane.
“She supported without hesitation, and always showed up when it mattered most, offering quiet strength or no-nonsense advice.
“Our love and condolences are with her family.
“We will miss the laughter, the teamwork, and Heidi’s practical skills.
“But most of all we will miss our very dear friend.
“Thank you for everything, Heidi.”
