AN INDEPENDENT Reading girls school is delighted that more than half its students scored all A* and A grades.
Two thirds of all grades awarded to Abbey School A Level students were at A* and A, an increase of 16% on last year’s grades.
Highlights, says the school, include:
29.1% of grades at A* (up from 19.7% in 2025)
66% at A*/A (up from 50.2% in 2025)
86.7% at A*/B (up from 79.9% in 2025)
More than 17% of students scored at least 3 A* grades, and 100% of students scored A*/A in their Extended Project Qualification.
Today Abbey students are celebrating, including Chloe Showell from Wokingham, who achieved A* A A, and will be studying Liberal Arts at Durham University.
Chloe said: “I’m so happy, it feels like such a relief and it’s really nice to be here with everyone sharing this moment.”
“The Abbey has given endless support, especially throughout all of the UCAS process – they really helped.”
Head, Dr Sarah Tullis, said: “We are so proud of Chloe.
“She has achieved these wonderful grades whilst also contributing a huge amount to the life of our school, from virtuoso musical performances to beautiful art exhibitions.
“These results show her talents and commitment and these characteristics will carry her far. We can’t wait to see what she does next.”
