EVERYONE has heard of Bob the Builder but people across Wokingham much prefer Bob the Plumber and Gas Engineer.
This real live man with a van is a very popular sight around the town and surrounding areas fixing everything from a leaky tap to installing a complete gas system.
Bob’s real name is Babak Khosravinejad who is originally from Iran and who has more than 40 years experience of delivering a first class service to satisfied customers.
He has been nominated for Community Business of the Year in the first Wokingham Community Awards by one of those numerous delighted customers, Elli Tanha.
She described how he came to the UK in 2000 with very little English but plenty of determination.
“He attended college on an engineering and plumbing course and is a fully qualified and approved gas engineer,” she explained.
“Bob then launched a business with a friend, Richard, and they called it B and R Plumbing Services. His friend left but Bob continued and now has a huge amount of regular customers. But it is not just about the job he does, it’s also about the way he does business.
“Bob is trustworthy and reliable. He really cares about doing every job right. That has led to repeat business because people know they expect the highest standards from him.”
Elli added that Bob can turn his hand to fixing other problems: “Someone mentioned to him they were having a problem with their laptop. Bob took a look and, despite not having any formal computer training, he was able to fix the issue.
“Bob is such an intelligent man and so kind, always willing to go the extra mile for anyone whether or not they are one of his customers.”
