Every year, Me2 Club matches over 100 children who have additional needs or disabilities with committed and passionate volunteers to help them attend and take part in mainstream leisure activities.

We tackle the impact of exclusion and social isolation experienced by children and young people and help build their confidence, self-esteem and independence.

We are looking to recruit a new Treasurer. As treasurer you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the financial health and transparency of Me2 Club. Key responsibilities include overseeing the financial management of the charity, ensuring that financial records are accurate and up-to-date; collaborating with other trustees and the Chief Executive Officer to develop and monitor the charity’s budget; presenting financial reports to the board of trustees at regular intervals; identifying and addressing financial risks that could impact the charity; ensuring that the charity complies with relevant financial regulations, such as filing tax returns and adhering to charity law. The treasurer will also liaise with our independent examiner to prepare the annual accounts. As a member of the Board of Trustees you will be jointly responsible for the legal, effective and safe running of Me2 Club.

Working with other Trustees and the Chief Executive Officer you will provide strategic leadership to a growing and ambitious charity. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of financial principles, including budgeting, financial reporting, and financial analysis.

At Age UK Berkshire, our services for people in later life are wide-ranging and cover the whole of Berkshire.

We provide support and services that make a real and positive difference to the quality of older people’s lives, including the most vulnerable and isolated.

We believe that helping our clients to enjoy the physical and emotional benefits of attending regular activities can be hugely rewarding, and want our volunteers to gain experience and be proud of what they achieve whilst with us.

To this end, we offer ongoing support, and hope volunteers will always feel free to contact one of our team to discuss any matter which will help them during their time with us. We are looking for more volunteers to support our dementia activities which help people with dementia and their carers across the Borough.

We are looking for volunteers to support the following groups:; Maintenance Cognitive Stimulation Therapy Memory Support Group in Earley, every other week on Tuesday, 1:30pm to 4pm, Wokingham Walks, at various different locations across Wokingham Borough, on the first Thursday of each month, 10am to 12pm, Shinfield Café on the fourth Wednesday of each month, 10am to 12:30pm., Love-To-Move Seated Gymnastics Club in Charvil on the fourth Thursday of each month, 1pm to 3pm and Memory Lane Singing Group in Wokingham on the fourth Friday of each month, 10am to 12:30pm.

Girlguiding Wokingham are looking for volunteers to help organise weekly unit meetings in the Wokingham area. Become an inspiring role model for our members – and help empower girls to be their best. Our weekly unit meetings are at the heart of Girlguiding. When you volunteer at them, you’ll have fun, get messy, meet new people and run activities that help our members discover their potential. We’re flexible and volunteering can be arranged to fit around a busy lifestyle, you do not need to be available to attend every week.

If you are interested in any of these roles or would like to discuss volunteering in general, please get in touch with our Volunteer Services Manager, Helena Badger on 0118 977 0749 or email [email protected]. To see all of our volunteering roles, please visit www.volunteerwokinghamborough.org.uk
