Agen v London Irish: Topsy Ojo to captain Exiles in final European Challenge Cup Pool 5 clash

TOPSY OJO will captain London Irish for their final European Challenge Cup Pool 5 clash at Agen on Saturday night (8.45pm).

Ojo has been handed the armband ahead of Luke Narraway, who skippered the side during last Saturday’s 28-18 loss to Grenoble at Madejski Stadium in the same competition.

Coach Tom Coventry has made four changes to the XV which started the game against the pool leaders, with Dominic Waldouck, Leo Halavatau, David Sisi and Conor Gilsenan replacing Halani Aulika, Alex Lewington, Jebb Sinclair and Joe Trayfoot respectively.

Gerard Ellis, Johnny Harris, Rob McCusker, Matt Symons and Conor Murphy are also added to the bench.

Scott Steele, meanwhile, has recovered from concussion and retains his place in the side.

Halavatau lines up alongside Tom Smallbone and Tom Cruse in the front row, with Ollie Curry and Sisi the second row pairing.

The back row will consist of Narraway, Gilsenan and Tom Guest.

Steele and Share Geraghty are the half backs, with Waldouck and Fergus Mulchrone in the centre.

Ojo is joined in the back three by Tom Fowlie and Theo Brophy Clews.

The Exiles head to southern France needing to secure a bonus-point win and hope Grenoble can defeat Edinburgh and deny them taking anything from the fixture if Irish are to progress to the quarter-finals.

“We were disappointed not to get the win last weekend, so tomorrow’s match against Agen gives the players an opportunity to finish the group stages strongly,” said head coach Coventry.

“There is still a slim chance of quarter-final qualification so we will need to put in a performance to give ourselves every chance and hope other results go our way.”

LONDON IRISH: Brophy Clews; Ojo (c); Mulchrone; Waldouck; Fowlie; Geraghty; Steele; Smallbone; Cruse; Halavatau; Curry; Sisi; Narraway; Gilsenan; Guest.

Replacements: Ellis; Harris; Aulika; McCusker; Symons; Allinson; Murphy; Lewington.
