RESIDENTS can take items to be fixed for free by expert menders.
Spencers Wood Repair Cafe has a team ready to give a new lease of life to broken household and garden items.
They will accept all sorts of items for repair, including broken china, toasters, and toys.
Organiser Billie Bachra, said: “We look forward to welcoming you and your broken items to see if we can fix them for you, save you money and reduce landfill.
“Our service is free of charge, but we accept donations to help with our running costs and initiatives to engage young people.
“We always welcome new volunteers or anyone who can help us source wood for our birdboxes.
“And we now have two PAT appliances and will safety-test any electrical items brought to us for repair.
“Tea, Coffee and cake available in our cafe.
“We do encourage our visitors to take an active role in the repair if they wish, and we take young people working towards their Duke of Edinburgh Award.”
The group meets regularly on the third Sunday of each month.
Their next event is at Lambs Lane Primary School, on Sunday, June 16.
Doors are open from 10am until 1pm.
