THE sky’s not the limit for two high-flying fundraisers.
For these magnificent men will be ON their flying machine in aid of a charity close to their hearts.
And Chris Hunt and Tyler Bennet say they will be relying on a wing and a prayer as they take raising funds to new heights.
Chris and Tyler have signed up for a wing walk in aid of Promise Inclusion which works with people with learning disabilities and their carers, in Wokingham and Bracknell Forest.
Later this month the pair will take it in turns to be strapped to the top wing of a classic biplane as it flies through the air.
Chris, a former Royal Marines Commando, said he was looking forward to what he described as a “crazy adventure.
“I wanted to work with Promise Inclusion because it is doing great things for the people they care about and any awareness or help I can give them will be amazing,” he said.
“As a Mental Performance Psychologist, doing something like this gets me very, very excited. As part of this fundraising effort, I am going to create a video series with three tools in it for improving your mental state so that everyone who donates can get access to. It is my little way of saying thanks.
“Money raised from my challenge will go towards adult social groups for people with learning disabilities run by Promise Inclusion. This will allow people with learning disabilities or autism access to social opportunities which will enrich their lives, including empowering them within their local community ensuring they have fun.”
Father of two Tyler plays for the Silver Birch FC in Bracknell and works as a home insulation expert.
“The work Promise Inclusion does is amazing, and it makes a real difference to people with learning disabilities and their carers, something our family has experienced firsthand,” he added.
“I know the difficulties people with learning disabilities face and how important it is for young adults to have the same opportunities and experience as everyone else.”
Victoria Sheriden from Promise Inclusion described Chris and Tyler as “very brave,” and thanked them for taking up such a hair-raising challenge: “I can’t imagine standing on top of an aeroplane as it climbs, dives and goes in a loop. We are very thankful for what they are doing, not only raising much needed funds but also helping to make the charity better known.
“We believe that anyone living with a learning disability and or autism deserves to have access to the facilities and opportunities that will enrich their lives and empower them within their local community.
“Our dedicated team of staff work tirelessly to ensure the lives of those with a learning disability and/or autism, their siblings and families are enhanced and improved, delivering on the promise that all people matter.”
The wing walk takes place on Thursday, September 28. To donate to Chris and Tyler’s fundraising pages go to: https://localgiving.org/charity/promise-inclusion/project/chriswingalk/ and https://localgiving.org/charity/promise-inclusion/project/tylerwingwalk/
