A SECOND road traffic collision in a week has occurred on a Finchampstead road.
Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service said it sent crews from Wokingham Road and Whitley Wood fire stations after receiving reports of the incident at 7.38am on Friday, June 23.
Two cars were involved in the incident on Reading Road.
They closed the road to allow them to work in safety, and were on the scene for more than 90 minutes.
One person was rescued from one of the vehicles, and they were placed in the care of South Central Ambulance Service.
The previous incident took place around 1.45pm on Sunday, June 18, and Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses to forward.
In this case, a collision occurred between a grey Hyundai Sante Fe and a silver Toyota Rav 4, on the Reading Road, Finchampstead.
The driver of the Hyundai, a woman in her twenties, suffered a serious leg injury, and the driver of the Toyota, a man in his forties, suffered a serious shoulder injury.
They both remain in hospital.
Two passengers in the Toyota sustained minor injuries.
PC Alex Jarratt, of the Joint Operations Roads Policing Unit, said: “We are appealing for witnesses following this road traffic collision.
“Specifically, we are asking anyone with dash-cam or other footage to please come forward.
“Or if you witnessed the collision but have not yet spoken to the police we would ask you to get in touch.
