THIS week, we’ve got another three new entries on our great playlist: two local bands and a third from London being helped out by a Wokingham-based group.

It’s a great mixture and we think you’ll love their work just as much as we do.

Have a listen thanks to the RaW Sounds Today playlist – it features 10 great tracks to enjoy at your leisure, and they are all available on Spotify.

Simply head to https://bit.ly/rawsoundstoday and enjoy the music.

There is also a Facebook page and group chat that bands and music fans can tap into. You can search for RaW Sounds Today and it will come up.

Purple Grace – Forever

Here’s a Berkshire-based band that showed what an exciting outfit they are when they performed a storming set at Wokingham Festival in the summer.

They certainly went down well with the crowd there. The band released a couple of impressive singles last year and they have just released a new one. It’s another good one.

Forever is a well-produced uplifting indie rock track that is well worth a listen and we’ll look forward to more live shows in 2024 – https://www.facebook.com/purplegraceband

George Bone – Valencia

Here’s a musician with talent. He’s from London and was brought to our attention when he joined the locally-based, but world-reaching, artist-promoting, Jamma Group.

They arranged a special exclusive show for him recently at The Rose Inn in Wokingham. Let’s hope he returns to the area soon as he has great potential.

George just released this new single and it’s a wonderful song, well produced with a strong vocal that conveys the longing and emotion of the lyrics – https://linktr.ee/georgebonemusic

Rocket Kings – Say It With a Smile

We’ve already featured a song from this Reading-based band’s new album Paving the Way, but this song has really grown on us and with its feelgood lyrics we just had to include it.

It has a bit of a Beautiful South feel which is no bad thing at all and Say it with a Smile certainly makes us smile. The band are live at The Castle Tap in Reading on Saturday, December 9 – https://www.facebook.com/rocketkings

Gong – My Guitar is a Spaceship

The latest incarnation of this legendary band were brilliant when we went on a road trip to see the opening night of their doubleheader tour with Ozric Tentacles, at Oxford’s O2 Academy. This is from Gong’s new album, Unending Ascending. Both bands are heading out together again in the spring – https://www.gongband.com/

Thomas Heppell – Underdog

Thomas is a talented Berkshire-based musician who is building up a reputation with his live shows and his 3 UK Blues Award nominations. He has released a new album titled simply Thomas Heppell and he and his band perform on Friday, December 8, at Wokingham Music Club – https://www.thomasheppell.com/

Dakorra – Falling

Dakorra’s Elevate Me EP was one of our favourite releases of 2022 and now the band, based around local musician, Kate Kerridge, have just released this impressive new single – https://www.facebook.com/dakorraband

One Last Day – No Chemical

It’s another rock anthem from these local rockers who have performed a number of successful shows recently – https://linktr.ee/onelastday

Pet Needs – Separation Anxiety

Another great band brought to the area by those brilliant Club Velocity promoters – https://petneedsband.com/

Mackenzie – Ordinary

Here’s a wonderful uplifting pop-rock anthem from a very talented musician from Reading – https://linktr.ee/Mackenzieofficial

Spriggan Mist – Kintbury Witch

Here’s an exciting new 10th anniversary re-recording of a song from the band’s Ghostly Tales’ album – https://www.sprigganmist.com/
