Former Reading FC striker Jon Dadi Bodvarsson is searching for a new club after being released by League One Bolton Wanderers.

The 31-year-old spent three seasons with Bolton and netted 25 times in 94 matches, but has been released by the club following the end of their campaign.

Bolton’s season ended in disappointment as they lost out in the League One play-off final against Oxford United.

Bodvarsson made 36 league appearances in the 2023/24 season and scored four times, two of those goals coming in a 5-2 win for the Trotters over Reading in April.

The Icelandic international has played his football in England since 2016 when he joined Wolverhampton Wanderers and scored three times in 42 games before joining Reading in 2017.

He played two seasons with the Royals and scored a total of 17 times in 56 appearances before he left to join Millwall.
