Reading FC maintained their 100% winning league start at home with victory over Stoke City.
Lucas Joao ensured his 29th birthday was one to remember when he put the Royals in front after two minutes.
Paul Ince’s men responded strongly after conceding against the run of play when Ben Willmot netted from a corner.
Reading resumed control of the game in the second-half and went back in front when Joao netted his second of the match, this time from the penalty spot when he slammed the ball past the reach of Bonham after he had been fouled to win the spot kick.
Reading now sit in third position in the Championship table after eight games with 15 points.
They are back in action on Saturday away at sixth placed Watford at Vicarage Road.
