German Doner Kebab

When it comes to casual dining, German Doner Kebab (GDK) stands out as a tantalising option for those seeking something new, thanks to its wide-ranging selection of kebabs – something different from other chains.
It already has a branch in Reading’s Friar Street, and this has been joined by a restaurant in Bracknell’s Lexicon.
This new branch has a clean and simple layout, its interior design has a light industrial feel and the decor is orange and black – the firm’s house colours – along with slate/concrete and a light wood.
One of its most popular dishes is the OG Kebab (£6.99), which can be either Chicken or Beef Meats are grilled on a rotating spit to order. It’s a sight to see, and the open-plan kitchen means diners can do just that.
It is served in a white waffle toasted bread, the outside layer was crunchy while the inside was soft and fluffy. Nestled within this is a generous amount of tender meat layered with crisp lettuce, sliced tomatoes, red cabbage and onion.
Their house sauces of Garlic, Spicy and Yogurt are made on-site using ingredients sourced from local producers.
The kebabs are rather large and incredibly filling, and are a harmonious blend of chicken – with no fatty or gristly bits in sight – bread and salad.
Overall it’s a treat for the taste buds.
Other options include the Doner Krunch Burger. This is meat with cool original Doritos chips smothered in cheese sauce, and served in a brioche bun, while the KCal Kebab is a lighter option.
A traditional Doner Wrap can be chosen, and vegetarians are catered for too, with a crispy breaded vegetable medley.
In addition to kebabs, GDK also offers a variety of sides and drinks.
Fries include cheesy (£2.49), plain, flaming (chilli) and curry.
GDK’s spring rolls (£2.99) and made in-house and were equally just as good as the main kebab.
Overall, German Doner Kebab is a good value option for a satisfying and filling meal. There are friendly staff, which is always a bonus.
Whether you’re a fan of kebabs or simply looking for a delicious and satisfying meal, it is giving German Doner Kebab a try.
