A BOROUGH charity committed to rescuing abandoned horses and ponies is holding a comedy fundraising evening in Wokingham.
SAFE (Saving Abandoned Fly-Grazing Equines) invites people to have a drink – and a laugh – with friends at their Superbly Amusing Fundraising Event.
Fresh from the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, three comedians will entertain with poetry and laughs.
Cindy Oswin will talk about the joy of ageing, Ian Stone will be himself, and John Hegley will simply be horsing around.
The event will take place at Pinewood Bar and Cafe, Pinewood Leisure Centre, on Wednesday, September 11.
Doors open at 7.30pm, with tickets costing £21.56 online, or £25 on the door, subject to availability.
All proceeds will go to SAFE.
The charity’s mission is to support local landowners to legally rescue and re-home abandoned and neglected horses in the Berkshire and Surrey areas.
They are currently caring for 28 horses, and are funded entirely by donations.
At the comedy event, own drinks and alcohol are not permitted, but people can bring non-noisy snacks.
Food is available to purchase, and must be booked in advance directly with the venue.
