The Finchampstead Society Spring Dinner was held at Jacksons, California Park on May 17, 2019.
Despite the torrential rain and the upgrading groundworks surrounding the restaurant in the park, the dinner was attended by about 45 members and guests.
As ever, the three course dinner including coffee or tea was a culinary success. The delicious deserts were guaranteed to increase the waistline of many weight conscious guests. The conversation and wine flowed non-stop, but there was still time to tackle the table quizzes which were challenging, imaginative and clever. Thank goodness we had the answers!
After the dinner, Adrian Hobbs the chairman of the Finchampstead Society thanked the Jackson staff for their service, and Kate Barrie for organising the dinner. Adrian went on to explain that new committee members were desperately needed, especially as it would be a problem to hold meetings without a quorum of members.
Adrian asked if everybody enjoyed the dinners and would further dinners be considered. The members present agreed unanimously that they had enjoyed the evening, the dinner and would welcome future occasions to the same standard that they had experienced this evening.
There is a full list of future events for this year on the Finchampstead Society Website. New members would be most welcome. The annual fee is still maintained at £3.00 per head and is really good value for money.
