Book loans at Twyford Library have risen by more than 50% year-on-year.
Cllr Stephen Conway, leader of Wokingham Borough Council, revealed the news at the recent full council meeting.
He said: “I am delighted to say that the new Twyford Library has been well received by the local community.
“Indeed, such is the enthusiasm in the local community that there has been a 59% increase in book loans during the first six weeks compared with the same time last year.”
He expressed thanks to council officers for their work to make the long-awaited new library a reality.
