A man in his 50s has died after being hit by a vehicle in Bracknell.
Thames Valley Police said the collision happened on Ringmead, near the junction with Hanworth Road, at about 23:45 BST on Saturday.
The pedestrian, who was from Bracknell, died following the collision. His next of kin have been informed.
A 25-year-old man from Bracknell has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving, causing death by careless driving while uninsured, and failing to stop and report a road accident.
He remains in police custody.
Detective Sergeant Oliver Cahill-Smith, of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, appealed for witnesses and anyone with footage from the area to come forward.
“Anyone who saw or heard anything in the area of Ringmead, near the junction with Hanworth Road, at about 11.45pm last night is asked to contact us,” he said.
Police said the incident would come as a shock to the local community and that a “thorough investigation” was under way.
