Police are appealing to identify a member of the public who helped officers during a violent incident at a supermarket in Twyford.
Thames Valley Police said officers were involved in a struggle with suspects at the Waitrose store on London Road on Tuesday evening when an unidentified man stepped in to assist.
The man, described as bald and wearing a bright yellow coat, helped officers to restrain the suspects during what police described as a “chaotic” scene.
Officers said his actions were “incredibly courageous” and are keen to ensure he is formally recognised for his help.
A spokesperson for Thames Valley Police said: “At a moment of significant risk, this individual chose to intervene and support our officers. We are very grateful for his actions.”
Anyone who believes they are the man involved, or who knows his identity, is asked to contact police via the online reporting form or by calling 101, quoting reference number 43260023139, or asking to speak to PC 2287 Young.
Police said enquiries into the incident are ongoing.
