A WOODLEY children’s charity is celebrating after receiving a donation from supermarket chain Waitrose earlier this month.
Me2 Club, which offers disabled youngsters the chance to attend mainstream activities, were presented with a cheque for £300 after being chosen as one of the Wokingham supermarket’s Community Matters charities for February.
Liz McDaniel from Me2 Club said: “We want to say a big thank you to Waitrose and to all the customers who voted for us. The money will go towards sponsoring young people and their volunteers to attend activity clubs as well as purchasing suitable new cameras so that we can capture all the amazing moments they have. If you can help support our work, either with fundraising or by volunteering with us, please do get in touch via the contact details on our website www.me2club.org.uk. We would also love to hear from you if there is a child or young person in your family who would benefit from our help.”
Henry Wickens, the Community Matters Champion for Waitrose in Wokingham said: “I am so pleased to have been able to support a charity that is doing such amazing work within our local area.”
