THE NEW Year is often time for a clear out, says Wokingham Borough Council.
Its waste and recycling services can help people to dispose of unwanted items thrown out as part of their home spring clean.
re3 recycling centres at Longshot Lane in Bracknell, and Smallmead in Reading are both open seven days a week all year round (with the exception of Christmas Eve and New year’s Eve, when they close at 4pm, and on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day, when the sites are closed all day.
From October to March both centres can be accessed from 8am until 6pm, and from April to September, from 8am until 8pm.
If people aren’t sure what to do with an item, they can use Wokingham Borough Council’s recycling app, which will give guidance on how to recycle or dispose of items correctly in Bracknell Forest, Reading and Wokingham Boroughs.
Called Scrapp, the App uses barcode scanning for quick access on the go, and can be downloaded onto a phone.
Free collections from homes in Bracknell Forest, Reading and Wokingham can be booked through Anglo Doorstep Collections.
These are for reusable clothing, footwear, kitchenware, small household items and small electricals.
