Wokingham, like much of the country, came to a standstill on Saturday afternoon as England took on Sweden in the World Cup quarter final.
And the football team did the nation proud, winning the encounter 2-0, setting up a semi-final date on Wednesday against Croatia.
The borough’s pubs and clubs were packed on Saturday afternoon for the big game – as they probably will be later this week and, hopefully, on Sunday’s final.
This is the first time that England has reached the World Cup semi-finals since 1990. We all hope that they can go all the way!
Our photographer, Steve Smyth, visited some of Wokingham’s pubs on Saturday to capture you through his lens – here are some of his pictures.
