PINEWOOD gymnast Lucie Colebeck led the way with a gold medal in the British Championships.
It was a highly successful day on the whole for the club with nine of the 16 that travelled to the event coming away with medals.
And their two senior participants, Colebeck and Yasmin Taite, ended the day one and two on the podium, something the club have not achieved since 2012.
“It was a really good competition,” Colebeck told The Wokingham Paper.
“Finishing first and second hasn’t happened for us for about five years so it was nice to be back on the podium with Yasmin.

“Both of us had a really good competition.
“I’ve been at Pinewood for over 10 years and to see all the younger gymnasts coming up and showing what they’ve got is really good for Pinewood as well.
“It’s showing everyone who we are and what we can achieve.”
In the age 9-10 category, Rosie Cowen finished sixth while Lottie Clarke’s score of 31.400 earned her a silver medal.
And Tristan Singelee went one better, leaving as British champions with his score of 32.800 for a routine which included a double tuck somersault.
In the 11-12 category, Sebastian Williams and Georgina Elliot claimed silver medals.
Tilly Nash and Dominic Mensah ended as the British champion in the 17-21 category with Eleanor Head in fifth.
For Colebeck, this gold medal follows on from her bronze in the World Games in Poland and

she still has the World Championships to come next month.
“This year has been extremely good in terms of competition,” she said.
“It’s just all the hard training paying off.
“The World Games is hosted every four years so four years ago that was my aim, to get to Poland.
“Even just going there was a real achievement and then to come home with a bronze medal was even better.”
She added: “In three and a half weeks I’ve got the World Championships in Bulgaria.
“Again a lot more training and just focussing for that really. I want to go there and produce four nice runs again.
“I’m hoping to put out a new run so we’ll see how that goes.
“We just want to go there, have fun and show the world how good that we’ve become.”
