READING FC earned a point against promotion hopefuls Luton Town at the Select Car Leasing Stadium on Wednesday evening.
Andy Carroll put the Royals ahead from a corner in the 51st minute and looked to have doubled the lead five minutes later, but instead received a second yellow for using his hand.
Reading defended resolutely with 10 men, but finally relented in the 81st minute when Carlton Morris bundled home underneath the crossbar after Joe Lumley appeared to lose his bearings.
Joe Lumley 7: An assured display. Made a smart save to deny Campbell in the first half and used his savvy gamesmanship to his team’s advantage late on.
Andy Yiadom 5: Showed intent to get forward in the opening stages. Misplaced a good number of passes as the match went on.
Tom Holmes 7: Went about his business diligently in what are becoming typically commanding performances.
Naby Sarr 7: Solid. Made a crucial block to deny Woodrow from close range. Has put together a string of consistent showings.
Nesta Guinness-Walker 6: Improving every week. Played with more freedom than earlier in the season, with the defensive side of his game coming on leaps and bounds.
Femi Azeez 6: Made some positive runs and was an outlet down the Royals’ right hand side. Just needs to add a little more end product.
Jeff Hendrick 6: Recycled the ball tidily and did his best to break up the play. Didn’t do anything spectacular, but did the basics well.
Cesare Casadei 5: A little off the pace on the night. Lost possession a handful of times and seemed somewhat lost in the middle of the park. Never gave up the ghost.
Tyrese Fornah 5: Got into some promising positions, but lacked the confidence to deliver crosses with his left foot. Typically industrious.
Andy Carroll 6: Spurned a fantastic chance from close range in the first couple of minutes, scored the opener and got sent off moments later for using his hand to score what looked to be a second.
Lucas Joao 6: Worked hard out of possession and did what he could with the service he was given.

Kelvin Abrefa 5: A quiet cameo from the youngster. Sliced a shot wide late on.
