READING FC boss Ruben Selles confirmed that proposals for Nelson Abbey and Tom Holmes have been accepted by the club.
The defenders are subject to transfer interest from Premier League Luton Town who are hoping to complete a double deal for a cut price this transfer window.
“A proposal has been accepted by the club,” said Selles.
“One of them, we are managing the option to get a loan back.
“So that will not affect us in football terms. That doesn’t mean that they are going to leave us. The players need to agree terms to accept those proposals so it’s a little bit different.”
Meanwhile, Luton manager Rob Edwards denied any knowledge of the club going in for the Royals pair after their match with Burnley on Friday night.
He said: “Nothing at the moment, no nothing to add at all.
“I’m not sure where that information’s come from at the moment.
“I think it’s really important that whoever we bring in is going to help the group, but it’s quiet and the quieter the better for us really.
“I know them as I’m a manager and I know a lot of players, but nothing in that at the moment, no.”
