Reading FC are reportedly close to agreeing a deal to sign FC Porto player Mamadou Loum on a loan deal.
According to reports in Portugal, the Royals are interested in sealing a deal for the midfielder on a one-year loan with an option to purchase the player for 5m next summer.
The Royals are currently unable to buy players due to being under a transfer embargo but are hoping that the restrictions will be lifted next season.
The 25-year-old midfielder made a switch to FC Porto in 2019 after impressing for Braga B early in his career, as well as a loan spell at Moreirense.
After making just 11 league appearances for Porto in 2019, Loum was loaned out to Spanish side Alaves for the 2021/22 season where he played 24 league games and scored two goals.
The 6’2 midfielder also has three international caps for Senegal having made his debut for his country in 2019.
He is now said to be surplus to requirements with the Portuguese giants and is seeking a move away from the club.
Reading have made seven signings so far this transfer window in what has been a summer full of changes at the club.
