REFUGEE families who have recently settled in the local area enjoyed a day out at Dinton Pastures last week thanks to a local charity.
Reading Refugee Support Group (RRSG) hosted the fun day out for 10 families from across Berkshire, including a family from Wokingham, on Wednesday, October 25 at the Winnersh country park.
Tom Clark from RRSG said: “The group enjoyed a picnic in the sun; the kids playing in the park; the oldies sitting and relaxing and the active ones having a football kick-about.
“It’s all vastly important to feel welcome and confident in their new surroundings and community.
“It was a fabulous day and thanks to those connected with Wokingham Borough Council who helped facilitate the day out.”
