From today (April 13), Easthampstead Road will be shutting as part of the ongoing construction of the South Wokingham distributor road.
The road will close between Star Lane level crossing and just north of Heathlands Road, with a diversion in place for vehicles and pedestrians.
Businesses, including those at Holme Grange Craft Village, will be open as usual and accessible from the south, as will any properties south of the level crossing.
The road will stay closed until early next year, when main work on the distributor road finishes, and the level crossing will reopen at this point.
However, the final layout includes a new cul-de-sac on Easthampstead Road with a new link road for through traffic.
The long-term closure of Easthampstead Road will follow the reopening of the junction with Heathlands Road, which was expected last Saturday.
This junction has been closed for four weeks for realignment works.
