Wokingham’s martial arts scene received a powerful showcase of skill and spirit as Shaolin Tigers (STMA) HQ BJJ team roared into action at the recent Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Reading Open, held at the Rivermead Leisure Centre.
With more than 800 athletes from across the nation converging, the competition was fierce, but the STMA team’s performance spoke volumes about their dedication and prowess on the mat.
Under the banner of Paraestra UK, STMA BJJ fielded a formidable squad of five members, each displaying remarkable tenacity and technique throughout the event.
Keith Forde, Jake Nicholson, Ashley Price, Matt Bartlett, and Nicholas Millington represented the club.
The day’s results were a testament to the hard work and skill cultivated at Shaolin Tigers HQ.
Ashley Price’s determination shone bright as he secured a Bronze medal in the White Belt Division, showcasing his grit and resilience. Jake Nicholson’s journey to the final was marked by exceptional skill and technique, narrowly missing out on the gold by a mere two points, yet leaving an indelible mark with his performance.
In the Master Two Division, Keith Forde’s exceptional performance shone through as he secured the gold medal with a decisive submission in the final showdown.His victory not only underscored his own prowess but also highlighted the calibre of training and coaching provided at Shaolin Tigers BJJ.
