SICK THIEVES twice targeted donations left for a charity to sell.
Police believe that two thefts to the Sue Ryder Hospice in Nettlebed are linked.
Both raids took place in the early hours in the morning and were captured on CCTV.
The first took place between 3am and 5am on May Day Holiday Monday. The two offenders, which police believe to be a man and a women, were seen climbing over a locked gate to get to an area where charity donations are left by members of the public.
The offenders appeared to be dressed in boiler suits and took several bags of donated household property.
The second raid took place between 6am and 7am on Wednesday, May 8.
In this instance, two offenders, again believed to be a man and a woman, were captured on CCTV climbing over a locked gate to take more bags.
The offenders then made their escape in a vehicle that looked similar to a silver Mercedes car.
Investigating officer PC Mark Burton, based at Wantage police station, said: “On two occasions, two unidentified people entered the site and took charity donations.
“This is a particularly callous act at a hospice, and I am appealing to anyone who may have any information about these burglaries to contact police.
“If anybody has been offered items of household goods in the local area and are suspicious about where these may have come from, please get in touch with us.
“Similarly, if anybody witnessed either burglary, I am urging you to call 101, quoting reference number 43190137918.
“Alternatively, you can call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or make a report online.”
