WITH Storm Eunice now at red alert levels, the emphasis is on keeping safe through the strong winds.
Scottish and Southern Electric (SSE) has advised people to prepare for potential power cuts throughout the day, as strong winds bring power cables down.
This means preparing:
- Torches
- Warm clothes
- Blankets
- And advising friends and family to be on hand if help is needed.
It is worth ensuring mobile phones and powerbanks are kept charged up in case the power is off for a signifant amount of time.
SSE sent an alert out earlier this week to vulnerable customers, advising them: “If you do have a power cut, it’s possible it may take us longer than usual to get your power back on due to the conditions outside.”
Power cuts can be tracked online at powertrack.ssen.co.uk/powertrack or by making a free call to 105.
Power cuts have been reported in the Heath End/Baughurst area of Tadley, and Camberley.
