Work is continuing on a network of nature parks that will provide around 40 hectares of natural green space across south Wokingham, giving residents more places to walk, exercise, relax and enjoy nature close to home.
The largest of the new parks, Holme Park, is expected to complete its construction phase within the next month before being handed over to developers for final works.
Additional nature parks are planned at Chapel Green and St Anne’s, alongside future housing developments, while Buckhurst Meadows has already been open since 2020.
The parks will be linked by green corridors and designed to support both wildlife and recreation, with features including wildflower meadows, ponds, wetlands, tree planting and accessible walking routes.
They form part of the wider south Wokingham development, which is also delivering new schools, community facilities and improved walking and cycling connections, according to Wokingham borough council.
