Wokingham Pride is almost here.
Saturday, July 11, is the day that Wokingham’s LGBQT community and their allies have been counting down towards.
Wokingham Pride will begin with a parade from Market Place, winding its way through the town centre to Elms Field and more festivities including entertainment on the stage and a selection of stalls.
Wokingham Pride is grateful for the support of main sponsors, including Strange the
Jewellers, Fiona Parry Boutique, Giftology, Rococo Jewellery, Salty Olive, Honesty Cafe, Steppin’ Out Stars of Tomorrow, Brown Bag and The Dukes Head – which is also hosting the afterparty.
Lesley Feinberg – business liaison and parade manager for Wokingham Pride, said: “Local business sponsorship helps bring Wokingham Pride to life.
“Every logo, advert, story and social media collaboration is more than promotion, it is a visible statement of support for inclusion, belonging and community in Wokingham, while giving businesses a meaningful way to show their support for the community.”
There is a wide variety of acts on the stage during the afternoon including Carola Baer, Noisy Neighbours and Phelim Mader.
Jill from Wokingham Pride, who arranges the artists, said “For the fourth year, Wokingham Pride will have live acts providing entertainment throughout the day on Elms Field.
“These are a mixture of returning acts and new acts providing a fun filled afternoon for the LGBTQ community and their allies.”
