Almost an acre of freehold Wokingham woodland has failed to sell at an online property auction today (Thursday).
It was yet another piece of land in a similar location off Sandy Lane in Barkham, that has come under the hammer at London-based Barney Estates in recent months.
The 0.8 acre site was guided at £80,000, and was described by the auctioneer as being “.. set in an idyllic location on the fringes of Wokingham and Barkham, with easy access into Winnersh via Bearwood Road and into Wokingham via Barkham Road.
“There are a number of amenities available nearby, including Barkham post office and The Bull public house.”
Several bids were made, and although bidding eventually reached £85,000, the auctioneer declined to sell the lot, saying “The sellers have not given me instructions to sell at £85,000.”
The land was being sold on an unconditional basis, with purchasers considering alternative uses or development deemed to be relying upon their own enquiries.
