READING FC are still on the lookout for their first league away win of the calendar year when they make the short trip to Wycombe Wanderers on Saturday.

It has now been more than a year since Reading’s last league victory on the road, in November 2022 at Hull City.

The Royals’ dreadful away form has seen them pick up just two points from their last 20 away trips.

Ruben Selles’ side go into the game sitting at the bottom of League One on seven points, which puts them 10 points adrift of safety.

Wycombe have made a relatively strong start to the campaign and are currently in 12th place on 22 points with six wins, four draws and six defeats.

After Gareth Ainsworth ended his 11-year spell as Wycombe boss last season to join Queens Park Rangers, Matt Bloomfield took the role as the new Chariboys manager in February.

They finished just outside the play-off places last campaign in ninth on 69 points.

Wycombe’s top scorer this season is Luke Leahy, who has netted five goals and claimed four assists in 16 matches.

Reading and Wycombe last met at Adams Park in February 2021 in the Championship.

The Chairboys took all three points with a 1-0 win as Fred Onyedinma scored the only goal of the game.

Reading had the chance to level late on from the penalty spot as Wycombe defender Ryan Tafazolli was sent off for fouling Andy Rinomhota, however Lucas Joao hit the crossbar with his spot kick.

Selles will still be without defender Tom McIntyre who is recovering from a muscle injury, while the rest of the squad will be assessed as they return from the international break.

Predicted Reading line-up: Button, Yiadom, Abbey, Dean, Dorsett, Craig, Savage, Wing, Knibbs, Azeez, Smith
