THE body of a man has been recovered from the River Loddon this morning.
Emergency services were called to Lower Earley at 10.38am on Saturday, November 11, to assist in the recovery.
A cordon was put in place in the Lower Earley Woods and Meadows, close to the Mill Lane roundabout to allow crews to work at the scene.
The incident is being treated as an unexplained death, and specialist officers from Thames Valley Police have informed the man’s family.
No further details are available at this time.
A spokesperson for Thames Valley Police told Wokingham Today: “Officers were called to the River Loddon off Thistleton Way at 10.38am today to reports of a body in the river.
“Thames Valley Police, the fire service, and ambulance all attended the scene.
“Sadly, a man’s body was recovered from the water.
“The force is investigating an unexplained death, which is not believed to be suspicious.”
They continued: “There are cordons in place to allow officers to conduct enquiries at the scene.
“The man’s next of kin has been informed.”
