The annual Emmbrook Jingle Jog, which took place before Christmas, raised more than £2,000.
Organiser Christine Leddy told Wokingham Today: “The event was a huge success, and it really was a team effort.
“We raised more than £2,000, which will be used by the infant and junior schools for enrichment opportunities.”
She added her thanks to the families that came along and supported the event, by taking part in the jog and visiting the festive fair, as well as to all the parents who donated a bottle or confectionery items for the tombola stalls.
“It was a bit wet, but we didn’t let the rain dampen our spirits,” she added.
“The hot chocolate was well received to warm up soggy runners, as were the sausages donated by Fego restaurant in Ascot, and some delicious mince pies and rolls that were donated by Unibake.
“I’d also like to thank the marshalls, including Mr Johnson, the deputy headteacher at the Emmbrook Senior school, who with a team of sixth formers supported the event for the third year, and gave it a real community feel.
“Thanks too, to the parent community first responder who came along to be our first aider, and to the teachers and staff for their support organising the event, leading the warm up, helping out on the stalls.
“We are also indebted to the Berkshire Electrical Services Ltd who PAT tested all the electrical equipment, to David Cliff Estate Agents who sponsored the event with a generous donation, and to Morrisons who donated confectionery items.
