Reading FC suffered a pre-season defeat as they took on Championship team Millwall in a behind closed doors friendly yesterday.

The Royals are gearing up for the new campaign and have already defeated Championship side Watford 2-0 with goals from Adrian Akande and Jayden Wareham.

Taking place at Reading’s Bearwood Park training ground, Kelvin Ehibhatiomhan was on the scoresheet as the Royals wore their brand new red and black away strip. However, it was Millwall who took the win as both teams earned valuable minutes ahead of the 24/25 campaign.

Next up forRuben Selles’ side in pre-season, they take on Woking away from home on Tuesday.

They then face QPR at the Select Car Leasing Stadium on Saturday, July 27, travel to play Cardiff City on Wednesday, July 31 before hosting Hull City at the SCL in their final pre-season contest on Saturday, August 3.

The competitive action then gets going on August 10 with an away trip to Birmingham City.
