WITH Autumn well and truly here CLASP can look forward to a full programme of regular and special events.
The group’s twentieth anniversary year has seen its members more active than ever in the community, expanding skills and taking on new challenges.
This month they will hold their AGM at the Bradbury Centre from 10am until noon, on Tuesday, October 7.
All CLASP supporters and the learning disability community are very welcome but are asked to let the group know in advance.
In the words of a previous attendee, it is ‘the best AGM I have ever attended.’
On Saturday, October 11 CLASP will be at the Volunteer Fayre in Wokingham Town Hall, and the following weekend at the Local Offer Live event at St Crispin’s School on Saturday, October 18.
As the month ends CLASP members are looking forward to joining Sports Together’s Festival of Inclusivity at Cantley Park on Thursday, October 30.
Alongside these special events, regular sessons will continue, with members able to join Movie Mates, Coffee Shop, Dancing to Music, Book Corner, Happy and Healthy Club Sports and Fitness sessions, Craft Club, Evening Drop-In at Sedero Lounge, Active Session (at Woky Bikes 4 All until October 23), Gardening Club, Take Notice, Puzzle Club and Choir.
Regular Friday discussion topics this month include:
October 3 – member discussion group.
October 10 – How can Wokingham Borough Council hear your views?
October 17 – Learning Disability Partnership Board workshop on Hate and Mate Crime.
October 24 – News from Optalis about short respite breaks at Loddon Court.
And on October 31 the group will enjoy A 20-themed quiz to celebrate 20 years of CLASP.
