Reading Football Club have confirmed that forward Sean Patton has joined Aldershot Town on loan until the end of the season.

The 19-year-old moved to Berkshire in the summer following a successful trial and has already made an impact at first-team level. He scored the winning goal against MK Dons in the Vertu Trophy and has made three senior appearances for the Royals.

Patton has also been a regular for Peter Scott’s Under-21 side, scoring six goals in 14 matches, including a hat-trick from the bench in a recent game away at Blackburn Rovers.

The move is aimed at giving the teenager regular first-team football, with Patton joining Aldershot at the EBB Stadium for the remainder of the campaign.

The Shots are currently 20th in the National League.

At Aldershot, he will link up with several former Reading players, including Tyler Frost, Josh Barrett, James Henry, Dejan Tetek and Coniah Boyce-Clarke.
