Wokingham borough council runs a range of English for Speakers of Other Languages courses from pre entry to advanced – online and in community settings.
Learners are offered courses to meet their needs, and there is a short waiting list for some courses. Apply first, and then complete an online assessment to test your English levels so appropriate classes can be offered.
Contact the council for a simple application form if you are supporting someone to apply who can not complete the online form.
The council is also looking to add in additional basic English conversation classes for women. These classes are in a welcoming and supportive setting and help learners prepare to learn English more formally. in a safe space to meet others, build connections within the local community, and develop confidence in everyday communication before applying for an ESOL class.
