Barkham Village Hall urgently needs a new treasurer. Can you help?

A LOCAL village hall management committee urgently needs a new treasurer to join their team.

Barkham Village Hall is a very popular venue located next to St James Church in a beautiful rural setting.

It is widely used for a range of clubs and classes, as well as for weddings, parties, christenings and social events.

Barkham Village Hall Management Committee (BVHMC) keeps it running smoothly and efficiently, and, mindful of the hall’s carbon footprint, has recently taken steps to ensure that the building’s lighting and heating requirements are now fully solar powered.

With the group’s treasurer stepping down in December, they are urgently looking for someone to join this capable team in the role.

“It’s a busy hall,” said Allan Wrobel, Chair of BVHMC, “ and there’s lots going on here, but it’s an easy job, and there will be a very comprehensive hand-over.”

Allan says that the post would be ideal for someone new to the area keen to make friends and join the community.

“It would probably suit a retired accountant who’d like to come and join our friendly team,” he said.

The new treasurer will take over financial transactions, provide reports to the committee, attend committee meetings held every other month, and become part of a supportive and friendly team.

The outgoing Treasurer will be available to offer a thorough handover of the role, and the position comes with a small salary.

For information, and for more about the treasurer post, visit: hallbookingonline.com/barkham, email: barkhamvillagehall@outlook.com or call: Lindsay Brown on 07596-554654
