BRACKNELL TOWN were rewarded with their 26th league win of the campaign to remain close behind leaders Weston-super-Mare.

The Robins played the latest home game this season against Gosport Borough, a team somewhat lower in the table but safe from relegation. Nothing much transpired but mid-field staged some interaction between the two sides which prevailed in the first-half but Gosport gained a corner and a repeat on the opposite side.

Bracknell then set out along the right wing and Ethan Burden supported the forwards. A corner taken by Bracknell went nowhere and Patick O’Flaherty,Gosport keeper, took a free kick.

Jordan Esprit was fouled and a free kick was taken for the Robins by Ashley Lodge. Robins took a corner which was headed out of play by a Gosport defender for another corner lick from the opposite side.

After retrieving the ball from the visitors, Robins saw Platt run through the midfield but his shot went straight to O’Flaherty. Abdulai Baggie attacked the Bracknell defenders but the latter cleared the ball away from imminent danger.

There was a corner kick from an attack on the left wing and Dan Bayliss was with the ball and Esprit took over the ball and hsi shot was blocked.

Platt took a quick free kick but Gosport managed to avoid any danger at their penalty area before they conceded a corner forced by Platt. Esprit was near the corner flag but the ball went out and the Gosport keeper sent the ball upfield high.

With the ball being shifted across the Gosport area, Fraser found a forward whose shot missed. A penalty was awarded to Bracknell for a blatant foul. Sanders took the shot from the spot and the keeper had no chance to make a save.

The second half had barely started when Jack Dean made sure of finding the net to make it 2-0.

It started to get scrappy in comparison with the first-half and Bracknell took three free kicks in a row. Dan Bayliss made a bold attempt at a header.but missed the target but Salifu, who had reached the other end, took advantage of Eacott having slipped and scored for Gosport.

Max Herbert took a free kick which forced a good save by O’Flaherty and a corner kick for Bracknell then Gosport got away from defence and the highest on the day sailed way over the bar.

It was not long before Bracknell had a corner kick and that brought out the best in O’Flaherty with a very commendable save.

On 90 minutes, Ashley Lodge managed to finish off the game with a well taken goal. Bracknell made a substitution with little time left and Obisogun was replaced by Sani as Bracknell Robins had complete control over the end game.
