Another Wokingham business has been targeted by activists that have claimed the business is involved in supplying parts to the Israeli air force.
Videos on social media appear to show windows being smashed at the company off Molly Millars Lane,
A Thames Valley Police spokesperson told Wokingham Today: “Officers were made aware of a report of criminal damage at Advanced Measurement Technology, Fishponds Close, Wokingham on Sunday, February 8..
“Significant damage was caused to the property, and enquiries are currently ongoing as part of the investigation.
“We would ask anybody with any information or who may have dash-cam or CCTV footage from the area, to please check this and contact Thames Valley Police on 101, quoting reference 43260064716 if it has captured anything that may assist the investigation.”
This incident comes after a branch of HSBC in Wokingham was also targeted by pro-Palestine activists at the end of last year. In that December protest, several windows of the bank on Market Place were smashed and graffiti was sprayed on the building, with slogans such as “DROP ELBIT” written on the exterior.
Activists linked the action to opposition to HSBC’s alleged financial ties to Israeli defence firms, despite the bank saying it had divested from one such company in 2018.
The HSBC incident was part of a nationwide wave of actions that saw protestors damage multiple branches of Britain’s largest bank in cities including Brighton and Edinburgh, with campaigners saying the bank should cut all links to companies they allege are involved in supplying weapons used in the conflict in Gaza.
