Wokingham Cricket Club are the 2017 Thames Valley League Division 1 champions.
The Oaks did in fact lose to Gerrards Cross this afternoon, but picked up eight points along the way with only six needed to clinch the title.
With just one game now to play, Wokingham are 23 points clear of second-placed Cove and will return to the Home Counties League in 2018 for the first time in nine years.
Captain Stuart Hayter won the toss and opted to put Gerrards in to bat, bowling them out at Sadlers End for 236 in the 46th over. Paul Dewick was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 3-40.
It was a below par day with the bat as the Oaks were all out for 172, but the job had already been done with important knocks from Stuart Parsons (33), Hayter (31), Dan Housego (40) and Archie Carter (30).
Wokingham round off the campaign away to Falkland next Saturday before preparations for life in the Home Counties can begin in earnest.
