A warning has gone out to drivers using the M4 this week – expect delays due to emergency repairs.
On Sunday, an accident caused damage to the safety barrier on the London bound carriage near the exit for junction 3 (Hayes).
Traffic during Monday morning’s rush hour was heavy as a result, and now plans are being made for a specialist barrier crew to carry out repairs before the M4 can get back to normal.
Although there will be ongoing disruption during the day, there will be emergency overnight repairs this week.
Starting tonight at 10pm, a crew are scheduled to make the necessary repairs to the junction. Work continues until 5am each morning.
The work is planned for Monday, September 12 and is planned for all the way through to Saturday, September 17.
During the works, one of the two motorway lanes will be closed each day.
