A HUGE gathering of saxophone players will make a joyful noise for Bracknell shoppers in December.
The Sax Bandits’ performance will feature two saxophone bands, one comprising more than 100 saxophone players, the other, a saxophone quartet called 4 In A Bar.
“We’ve named the performance the ‘SaXmas Busking Bash’,” said Sax Bandits leader (otherwise known as The Sorcerer of Sax) Rob Digweed.
“We’ll be playing a mix of classic Christmas favourites and iconic pop songs to entertain the late night shoppers.”
Sax Bandits is an all-saxophone band for adults of all ages and abilities, playing fun rock and pop songs.
Eight local bands meet at different venues across Oxfordshire, Berkshire, Surrey, Buckinghamshire, and West Sussex.
“All the bands join together for Sax Bandit gigs to create one giant band, which is a really impressive sight,” said Rob.
“We currently have two local band sessions near Wokingham, meeting in Binfield or Twyford once a month.
“We’re always happy to welcome new members.”
The Sax Bandits’ SaxMas Busking Bash will take place at Bracknell’s Lexicon Shopping Centre, on Thursday, December 18, from 6pm until 7.30pm, as part of The Lexicon’s Christmas 2025 festive music events.
Most retailers will be operating late night shopping until 8pm on the day as well as a dozen or so Christmas market stalls.
The event is free of charge.
