THE late May bank holiday weekend brought a day of fun for families with younger children.
Organised by Wokingham Town Council, a Children’s Fun Day took place in the town’s Langborough Recreation Ground.
Families gathered in the sunshine, where the park was transformed into a vibrant space filled with activities to entertain and engage, including fairground rides, bungee trampolines, go carts and rides.
Other popular attractions were a mobile farm, birds of prey and ferret racing.
And an arts and crafts station allowed children to express their artistic talents, guided by volunteers from More Arts and The Cowshed.
There, youngsters created cards, paintings and clay models to take home as souvenirs.
Face painting and glitter tattoos provided by Circus Scene added another layer of fun, with children sporting designs ranging from butterflies to superheroes.
For the youngest children there was soft play provided by First Days Children’s Charity, and this year, quiet and sensory spaces were provided by Me2Club and Building for the Future.
Chair of the Arts and Culture Committee, Councillor Barrie Callendar said. “We were thrilled to see so many families enjoying the Children’s Fun Day, which is provided free of charge by Wokingham Town Council.
“Our goal was to create a memorable day for local families, and judging by the smiles and laughter, we’ve succeeded.”
Councillor Callender thanks all the organisations who contributed to the success of the day.
