The Greyhound in Finchampstead has won the Food Pub of the Year award at the pub industry’s nationally recognised night of excellence awards.
The pub won the award for its traditional hospitality, combining exceptional, produce-led food with a warm, welcoming atmosphere.
The Greyhound is a premium dining destination that effortlessly blends a traditional pub feel with modern culinary excellence.
It prides itself on a locally sourced, highly seasonal menu that elevates classic British pub fare into a truly memorable dining experience for its guests.
The pub is operated by Brucan Pubs, a collection of award-winning pubs spreading from the Royal County of Berkshire to the edge of the Surrey Hills National Park, all serving exceptional food alongside a genuine pub experience.
The Night of Excellence Awards celebrate the success of great licensees and the businesses they run in partnership with Greene King pub partners, the leased, tenanted and franchise arm of pub company and brewer Greene King.
A total of 17 awards were up for grabs at this year’s ceremony, ranging from Community Pub of the Year to Beer pub of the year and everything in between. Each award was sponsored by key suppliers to the pub sector and household brand names such as Coca-Cola, Heineken and Budweiser.
This year, England World Cup winning legend Sir Geoff Hurst, who has made a beer in collaboration with the Greene King Brewery available for the summer’s football tournament, attended the awards.
James Lyon Shaw and Nick Solomides, licensees of the Greyhound and operators of Brucan Pubs said:“Winning Food Pub of the Year is an incredible honour for us.
“The kitchen team puts so much passion and creativity into every single dish that leaves the pass and it’s wonderful to see that dedication recognised.
“We want to dedicate this award to our brilliant kitchen team and our loyal guests who keep coming back to enjoy our wonderful food.”
