Firefighters were called out to rescue a deer after it became trapped in a fence in Wokingham.
Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service was alerted by Thames Valley Police at 06:25 BST on Thursday, 25 June, following reports of an animal in need of assistance on Latimer Road.
A crew from Wokingham Fire Station attended the scene and found the deer had become stuck in a metal fence and was unable to free itself.
Using hydraulic spreaders, firefighters carefully widened the gap in the fence, allowing the animal to be released safely without causing further injury.
The rescue operation lasted around 13 minutes, after which the deer was able to make its way from the scene.
Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service said the incident highlighted the wide variety of emergencies crews attend, with firefighters regularly called upon to assist not only people but also animals in distress.
