Rubbish is set to be removed from the Emm Brook in the coming weeks, it has been revealed.
A reader contacted Wokingham Today following the discovery, and said: “I’ve tried reporting this to Wokingham Council and the Environmental Agency, without any success.
“I’m hoping you can use this information to increase public awareness and interest, and perhaps a clean up by the authorities.
“The Emm Brook is full of rubbish in multiple locations and has become overgrown along the entire section through Emmbrook and Woosehill.”
A council spokesperson, when contacted by Wokingham Today, said: “We’re aware of the illegal fly tipping in the Emm Brook at this location and we’re working with Biffa to commission a specialist contractor to help remove it as the site access is very challenging.
“We expect the waste to be removed in the next few weeks.”
