Southern Region Women’s Premier

WOODLEY UNITED ended the season in third place after they held champions Bournemouth Sport to a draw.

After the 1-1 stalemate, the Kestrels finished on 26 points with seven wins from 16 matches.

Woodley United manager Marc Surtees said: “Really proud of this group of ladies. The team spirit, work rate and togetherness really shone through in the last two games, but what a great season it has been. Finishing third after being promoted is a great achievement.”

YATELEY UNITED cut FINCHAMPSTEAD’s lead in the title race as the race for first took a twist.

Goals from Smith and Weaver ensured a 2-1 win for Yateley which takes them within four points of Finch at the top.

Finch are on 45 points and have two games to play, while Yateley have four matches left to play. Caversham AFC are also firmly in the race on 42 points and have played 16 matches.

CAVERSHAM AFC made it 14 wins from 16 with a 4-1 away win with a double from Pia Davis and goals from Amy Jane Rock and Katy McNicholas at Brook House which keeps them in second

Thames Valley Women’s Development

BERKS COUNTY hit an exceptional 15 goals in their final game of the campaign, but missed out on the title by one point.

An incredible 15-0 win over Arborfield saw Kiah Owen net seven times, Olivia Aluko scored four and goals from Lydia Farruggio, Kiana Proietti and Mya de Souza rounded off the scoring.

Despite concluding an outstanding season which saw the Swords win 19 of their 22 league matches, they finished a point behind Rotherfield United.

WOKINGHAM & EMMBROOK hit five in their final league game of the season.

A brace from Sophie White and goals from Lauren Evans, Phoebe Fenwick and Callie Welch contributed to a 5-2 success for the Sumas.

The result puts the Sumas in third on 41 points.

BURGHFIELD RESERVES picked up their 11th win of the campaign with a 4-1 triumph over Goring United Reserves with strikes from Georgia Hind, Chloe Sykes and a Abi Elliott double.The Fielders finish the season in sixth position.
